In an effort to I have been watching this show off and on this season, Last night's epi shocked me. It actually had a credible christian outreach to one of the main characters. In an effort to reestablish himself, the husband of the central figure who was a prosecutor and politician from Chicago got caught in the first episode with political, monetary and adulterous improprieties. He has been released after several months in prison. So he (a white guy) meets with a black pastor in order to get an endoresement to boost his numbers with black female voters. So this pastor, Isaiah, asks him about his faith. He gives a generic political answer. So he presses the issue: "Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins? "I am not sure I even know what that means." "Do you want to know?" "I don't think so..." But they go on to continue to meet, both at the church and at his home. The wife comes in about half way thru the show to see the 2 of them kneeling in prayer in the spare bedroom. The wife asks him if he is getting 'religious.' Rather than answer, at the end he tells her that Pastor Isaiah thought it would be a good idea if they both started attending church. She replied "That would be different...." Very unusual to see that kind of story line on mainstream network TV.
